Multibody Analysis of Railway Vehicles on Roller Rigs and on Straight Tracks

Kurzfassung

Testing railway vehicles on a roller rig instead of on the track leads to several deviations from the track experiments. These deviations are due to several differences in the contact conditions. The additional terms in the equations of motion introduced by these differences are denoted and then prepared for an investigation of their influence on a multibody model of the entire system. By this means the influence of the single effects can be quantified. Further, the influence of the available roller rig adjustment parameters on the deviations is analysed. This gives hints that better agreement between track and rolles may be achieved by an appropriate choice of these design parameters. Finally a method is suggested to calculate those appropriate parameters.
