Abstract

The focus of this presentation is on the laminar wing design and its verification by means of Temperature-Sensitive Paints (TSP). After an introduction to the development of the world air traffic and to the drag components of transport aircraft, the TSP technique for transition detection and the Cryogenic Ludwieg-Tube Göttingen are discussed. The results of the investigation of surface imperfection effects on laminar flow are also presented.
