Abstract

Secondary reflectors on solar tower power plants with molten salt receivers are intended to reflect the solar radiation directed by the heliostats onto the absorber one more time and thus focus more on the absorber. The intention is to increase the cost and energy efficiency of these power plants. As part of the SolSec project, the feasibility of the secondary reflectors is to be examined. This thesis follows previous work packages of the SolSec project and deals with the construction and prototype development of the secondary reflectors. To establish a basis for the construction process, a list of requirements was drawn up and the secondary reflector was divided into functional assemblies. Using a numerical preliminary examination of the reflective surface, the constructional key aspects of each assembly were worked out. Individual concepts have been developed for these key aspects and compared with one another. The most promising concepts for the secondary reflector were designed using numerical analyzes. The stress-critical points on the reflection surface were also determined. On this basis, an overall design of the reflection surface was put together. Finally, recommendations for the design of the prototype are given and all influences that should be considered at the system boundaries are listed.
