Kurzfassung
In these days, electric mobility is the first choice to reduce greenhouse gases in traffic sector. Nevertheless, electric vehicles currently still have a marginal role in Germany’s traffic, inter alia due to little driving ranges and long charging times. These two disadvantages can, as of yet, only be devolved by a properly planned charging infrastructure. In order to promote electric mobility in municipal context, cities and municipalities have to establish public charging stations. The main objective of this thesis is to identify requirements of various stakeholders for a charging infrastructure in urban areas and determine ideal locational selections for charging stations and use cases. In detail, this regards to the construction of an innovative charging infrastructure on catenaries in the German city of Nordhausen. Therefore, the qualitative method of semi-structured interviews with different stakeholders of Nordhausen, was applied. The results show that especially the locational selection of charging stations is of essential importance and affects the usage of electric mobility in an urban context significantly. In addition, special locations and related use cases could be discussed using the example of the city of Nordhausen.
