Abstract

Vogelschlag in der Luftfahrt ist ein Thema, das zunehmend in der Öffentlichkeit wahrgenommen wird, aber auch im Fokus der Sicherheit der Passagierluftfahrt steht. Das DLR Institut für Bauweisen und Strukturtechnologie forscht an impact-toleranten Strukturen mit Hilfe von Experimenten und numerischen Simulationen. Dabei kommen künstliche Vogelmodelle zum Einsatz. Bird strike in aeronautics is known to a wide public through incidents with passenger aircrafts and rotorcrafts, as this is an aspect of safety for aerial transport. Research is being conducted at the German Aerospace Center (DLR) to improve a structure's ability to withstand impact. Artificial birds are being utilised in experiments and its digital model in numerical simulations.
