Abstract

The effect of a downstream obstacle (rod of 10 mm diameter) on a turbine blade channel flow is investigated experimentally. Variations of the blade life coefficent in function of the rod location are determined. The flow is visualised by means of the schlieren method. Large differences of the channel and corresponding pressure distributions in the trailing part of the blade surface are noted due to the flow-obstacle interaction
