Abstract

Several research studies deal with the estimation of reliability and maintenance cost of the aircraft. However, detailed estimations at subsystem level and assessment on the impact that maintenance man-hour have on maintenance costs have been omitted so far. The purpose of this master thesis is to provide a methodology that estimates RAMS and maintenance costs of a civil aircraft, both at system and subsystem level, at the early design phase in case of conventional and of new generation aircraft.
