Abstract

This master thesis deals with the development and construction of a water management system for a self-sufficient deployable plant cultivation unit. The focus of this thesis is on concept selection and implementation of the final solution concept in a CAD model. The first section of this thesis deals with the general aspects and the current state of development of the Mobile Deployable Crop Production Unit (MEPA). Subsequently, the basics of irrigation of plants are discussed. The tasks and functional structure specified on this basis are presented and a system analysis is realized. After listing the most important requirements for the system, the individual concept variants are presented and evaluated. In addition, the basics for dehumidification devices are acquired and after presentation of some devices a recommendation for the MEPA is made. The overall concept, which is selected by the evaluation, is afterwards implemented in a CAD model and presented at the end of this work.
