Abstract

The German national project Advanced Aircraft Concepts (AVACON) investigates a near future aircraft configuration under consideration of prospective market requirements and continuous technology improvements. Based on a data set in CPACS format provided by the overall aircraft design (OAD), high-fidelity investigations were performed to achieve a more detailed aerodynamic design of the wing-body configuration to validate the assumptions by OAD. Therefore, the link between preliminary design and high-fidelity methods should be improved to accelerate the exchange within the design process. Based on a fully parameterized aircraft model, the wing shape was adapted to meet the specified performance requirements in cruise flight while maintaining the guidelines of the preliminary design.
