The study of turbulent jet flow is a topic with long history in aerodynamic and aeroacoustic research. However to date only a limited number of experimental investigations using volumetric measurements have been conducted. In this work, a subsonic jet flow in air at Mach 0.5 and 0.84 generated by a round as well as a chevron nozzle with an inner diameter (D) of 1.5 mm is investigated using three-dimensional Lagrangian Particle Tracking and simultaneous far field microphone measurements. Continuing earlier work by Manovski et al., the study provides insight into flow structures as well as high quality turbulence statistics of the jet flow and investigations of jet noise.
