Abstract

Accurate crop type maps are vital for agricultural monitoring and sustainable land management. When derived from earth observation (EO) data, an accurate classification of crop type requires high spatial and temporal resolutions. In this study, we evaluate the suitability of interpolated time series features for the classification of 19 crop types with optical Sentinel-2 (S-2), SAR Sentinel-1 (S-1) and fusion of both data sources for a study area in Northern Germany (Brandenburg).
