Abstract

The present poster presents the latest efforts of our ongoing experimental and numerical stiudies on hypersonic boundary layer transition control by means of a new porous CC-SiC surface. It describes the design strategy including the stability analysis of the flow field at the point of operation, the material design, the acoustic characterization of the C/C-SiC material and the final tests in the High Enthalpy Shock Tunnel Göttingen (HEG) showing strong 2nd mode suppression and thus transition delay.
