Abstract

Life Cycle Assessments (LCA) are a great tool to incorporate potential environmental impacts into the design process of products and new production methods. The main challenges of LCAs are the collection of adequate data, especially when the design is still changing, and the appropriate selection of the system boundaries. This presentation will address the difficulties of these steps on the basis of three different alternative fuel production projects.
