Abstract

This report gives an overview of the airfoil polars computation process for chord-extension sections using CFD. First, the methodology for generation of the test matrix used in the generation of the airfoil polars is described. Then a summary of the results in the form of plots is given. The CFD computations using DLR’s Navier Stokes solver TAU were performed by Anthony Gardner at the Institute for Aerodynamics and Flow Technology, DLR Goettingen in March 2019 and the resulting tables were delivered to Rohin Majeti at DLR Braunschweig.
