Abstract

In this report, the hover performance investigation for the baseline Bo105 rotor and its morphed variants are described. Rotor blade adaptive twist, and chord-extension are considered individually and in combination. The figure of merit, thrust and power enhancements relative to the baseline rotor are examined. For the analysis, a fully elastic rotor blade including blade pitch, flap and lag deformation effects has been considered. A full unsteady aerodynamic formulation including dynamic stall, yawed flow etc for morphed airfoil geometries has been built in analytical form using CFD data and used. For inflow, simple nonuniform models have been used.
