Abstract

We report on the Raman spectrometer onboard the MMX rover which will be part of JAXAs Martian Moons eXploration (MMX) mission. The mission will be launched in 2024 and the Raman Spectrometer for MMX (RAX) instrument is designed to investigate the surface mineralogy of the Martian moon Phobos, according to the top-level science objectives of the MMX mission as defined by JAXA.
