Abstract

Model engineering aims at applying systematic, standardized, and quantifiable methodologies to model life cycles for achieving minimum cost and maximum quality. This chapter addresses quality analysis, assessment and improvement approaches, and methodologies for graphical models. It introduces modeling guidelines, model checking and repair, model refactoring, and model testing with a focus on model engineering efforts as a part of modeling- and simulation-based systems development.
