Abstract
In times of climate change the investigation of critical variables within the earth system is key to understand effects on regional as well as on global basis, to improve weather and climate prediction models or to enhance flood forecasting or drought monitoring. Therefore, the focus is on the acquisition, processing and analysis of remotely sensed active and passive microwave data in terms of interactions with vegetation.
