Abstract

This Energy scenario for Belarus shows, how the globally developed pathways towards a climate protecting and globally more equitable energy system can be implemented in practice on national level for Belarus. The scenario study is based on analysis of the existing energy system and the locally available renewable energy potentials. Together with national experts we develop scenarios with the focus on efficiency improvements and an accelerated expansion of renewable energies. The scenarios show, how national energy systems can be transformed in order to comply with climate protection targets.
