Abstract
MAPHEUS (MAterialPHysikalische Experimente Unter Schwerelosigkeit) is a DLR sounding rocket programme established 10 years ago between the Institutes MP, RB, and RY. Initially providing three minutes reduced gravity for materials physics experiments in the first project phase (2008-2013), MAPHEUS extended its capabilities in the second project phase (2013-2018) to provide six minutes of microgravity and a doubling of payload mass for the project partners ME, MP, and RB. Materials physics experiments carried out on board of MAPHEUS-1 to MAPHEUS-7 in the areas of thermophysical property measurements of metal alloys and their solidification, granular matter, and soft condensed matter will be discussed.
