Software development of a prototype for determining the condition of buildings for efficient building renovation

Abstract

The efficient and complete utilization of energy is where science and technology are aiming to reduce wastage of energy and greenhouse gases. This Master Thesis work takes a step towards measuring and thereby reducing the energy consumption of indoor spaces to fulfill the said goal. The work comprises the software implementation of an indoor room scanner which detects a pipe burst inside the walls of a room with IR (Infra Red) cameras and create a 2.5-Dimensional view of the room created from a visual 360° panoramic image. It includes the stitching of multiple IR images obtained from IR cameras to create a 360° panoramic view of the room in IR spectrum to detect any leakage.
