The contribution discusses the needs of formal specifications of driving scenarios for assessing the risk incurred by introducing automated driving functions. It proposes a set of building blocks which may be used in defining scenarios. And it discusses operators by which these building blocks can be combined into descriptions of traffic evolutions as necessary for a partially automatized estimation of the risk.
