Kurzfassung
The formation and evolution of the crust, magnetic field and atmosphere of a terrestrial planets are fundamental, global-scale processes that are intimately related to the thermal evolution, structure, and composition of the deep interior. In this chapter we introduce the present understanding of the physical processes that connect these different aspects of planetary evolution and lead to the diversity of planetary surfaces and histories that we observe.
