Abstract

This paper deals with the extension of the Discrete Mode Matching (DMM) method to analyze conformal microstrip antennas fabricated with quasi-cylindrical anisotropic substrates. The computation of the field components at the interfaces is done with the cylindrical coordinate system. A full-wave equivalent circuit (FWEC) is used to calculate the dyadic Green’s function of the system. Spatial-domain formulation is used to smoothly interpret the conformal interface of the structure. The method is applied to compute S-parameters and input impedance of microstrip antennas with elliptical substrate.
