Abstract

The current state-of-the-art for the economic evaluation of new aircraft technologies are static DOC methods. For a more holistic cost-benefit assessment of an entire aircraft life cycle it is preferable to use dynamic cash-flow analyses which consider the time value of money. Since there are several applicable dynamic methods it is necessary to give an overview of their main advantages and disadvantages and establish a simple and straightforward set of decision rules for innovation investment.
