Abstract

High-Speed Particle Image Velocimetry (HS-PIV) measurements were performed at the tunnel-simulation facility Göttingen (TSG) to analyse the flow velocity in the boundary layer of an ÖBB-Railjet train model. The flow around the train model was analysed in a plane at 4 measurement heights. Additionally, the influence of vortex-generators and an inter-car gap was investigated at the lowest measurement height. The test runs for one configuration were repeated with a doubled resolution to analyse the near-surface gradients.
