Abstract

Due to flight density in the European airspace, numerous conflicts between aircraft arise. Avoiding conflicts before take-off could improve safety; however, stochastic disturbances to trajectories inhibit deterministic conflict prevention. Conflict probabilities between planned flights can be calculated with departure distributions. We reduce conflict probabilities by allocating alternative departure timeslots. To find optimal solutions on the network level, we use the method of Column Generation.
