A320-ATRA Flight Data Gathering for System Identification - 3rd Edition

Abstract

Knowledge about the aircraft aerodynamics and control logic functions is essential for conducting experiments on a research aircraft like the A320-ATRA. Flight dynamic models allow a better planning of experiments concerning flight mechanics and aerodynamic topics. Such a model is also important for a flight simulator like the DLR AVES, because a high fidelity simulator allows a better testing of new aircraft systems before the flight test. This report gives an overview of the flight data gathered with the DLR research aircraft A320-ATRA during flight tests for the DLR internal project OPIAM (Online Parameter Identification for Integrated Aerodynamic Modelling).
