Abstract

This paper describes the progress of DLR’s universal heliostat field control system “HeliOS”, first presented in [1]. The individual combination of many provided features adapts the control system to different field setups, including different types of heliostats or receivers. In this paper, we present the functionality and features of the system. Furthermore, the results of a simulated operation of a 100 MWel molten salt tower with 22762 heliostats (49 m²), the performance and capabilities of the system are shown.
