Abstract
The development of Commercial Space Transportation has recently received an increasing significance in the world of Air Traffic Management (ATM). A large and increasing number of spaceports and launch sites are serving (or will serve) new emerging traffic users in near space environment. Besides an overview about the situation, this talk will give some insights into the challenges and limitations of the impact of spaceflights and/or space vehicles/platforms operating in near space environment on ATM. Especially the compatibility to existing controlled air traffic within the ATM system and procedures for separation assurance will be highlighted.
