Abstract

In our work, the hypoeutectic alloy of anomalous eutectic system Ag-Ge solidified under terrestrial conditions was compared with that solidified under microgravity. The results obtained showed that the decrease in mobility of compon ents results in significant increase of non-equilibrium level of crystallisation process. The limited convection flow rate in microgravity was observed to result in suppressed separation of solute (germanium) between primary crystals and eutectic.
