Abstract

Air traffic control is a working environment heavily influenced by automated systems: radar trackers and decision support tools are examples of established technologies that help controllers control air traffic safely, orderly and expeditiously. Automation is however and should not be introduced as an end in itself, which is why the requirements towards these systems in terms of safety (reliability, robustness) are high [20].
