Abstract

Mixed convection in a rectangular sample shows flow reconfigurations for a certain range of dimensionless numbers. Stereo PIV was conducted in this parameter range for 6 planes near the left sidewall of the sample to investigate the supposed roll generation process. The analysis displays the relation of the flow structure to the changes in the simultaneously recorded temperature distribution. Further investigations include the propagation of flow structures through the considered planes.
