Abstract
As for several new technologies, large research efforts are needed to investigate the technical feasibility, the economic viability and the certifiability of the counter-rotating open rotor engines technology. The Institute of Structures and Design of the German Aerospace Centre therefore contributed to investigations on a front CROR-blade aerofoil made of fibre reinforced plastic.
