Abstract

One chapter in „Examples of Applications“ in „Particle Image Velocimetry – A Practical Guide“, 3rd edition: The simultaneous measurement of instantaneous velocity and temperature fields of air flows using thermochromic liquid crystals is discussed for mixed convection in a cuboidal convection sample. Illumination, dynamic hue-temperature calibration, a raw colour image as well as PIV details and an exemplary result are discussed.
