Validation Test Results in Arc-Heated Facilities - Part C: Active Cooling Concept 2b

Kurzfassung

The Report describes the results that were obtained during experimental thermal verification of the active cooling concept 2b in the frame of the EU FP7 project THOR. Tests were carried out on a ceramic leading edge configuration in a test campaign in DLR’s arc-heated facility L3K. The experimental setup for the thermal verification tests had been described in THOR report D6.2. The key elements of test assembly and instrumentation are recalled first. Afterwards test procedure and test matrix are discussed, before the main test results from the thermal tests are presented. Finally, the main conclusions are compiled.
