Abstract

The aim of this thesis was the development of a method to automatically quantify radiation induced DNA damages in mammalian cells. The possibility of a more rapid analysis procedure would be an important contribution to facilitate a better understanding of the radiation’s harmful effects. For this purpose, the D³ termed extension for the digital image processing software ImageJ was programmed, enabling an automated analysis of DNA lesions in microscopic images.
