Abstract

For all Earth Observation (EO) missions, it is of increasing importance to provide well calibrated and validated data products. In addition, the Quality Assurance Framework for Earth Observation (QA4EO) by the Committee on Earth Observation Satellites (CEOS) proposes that all “Data and derived products shall have associated with them a fully traceable indicator of their quality”. With the emergence of a new generation of spaceborne hyperspectral instruments, the related preparation activities are already taking place within the GRSS Technical Committee International Spaceborne Imaging Spectroscopy (ISIS TC) in order to support this demand. In this context, this oral presentation includes selected aspects of an EnMAP preparation activity dealing with the influence of the radiometric and spectral calibration on ground reflectance retrieval. In addition, findings for the DESIS mission will be presented.
