Abstract

The well-known crossflow reference experiment used by Bippes et al. in the 80s and 90s has been reestablished and redesigned for the pursuit of new research ideas in crossflow-induced laminar-turbulent transition. Among the presented results will be the characterisation of the base flow and the investigation of the development of stationary and travelling crossflow instabilities, as well as the observation of high-frequency secondary instabilities in the new setup.
