Abstract
As part of FLPP3 tests about the stratification with liquids in very low temperature regions must be made as validation for given computational simulation tools. Especially validation tests for the phenomena of sloshing, venting, filling and draining at different pressure levels are required. To perform these tests the DLR site Bremen has the infrastructure with a cryogenic laboratory to handle liquids at low temperature regions. As test fluid, liquid nitrogen (LN2) is used and given with a supply. Due to the requirements, gaseous nitrogen (GN2) and helium (GHe) are given to perform the pressure regions. As test vessel the cryogenic tank demonstrator (CTD) is used. The order package “Tank Sensorik 3” includes the development and installation of the temperature management system (TMS) by the DLR. The prior market analysis (RYTAS-ASTTS01- DOC-11) resulted in the choice of the sensor elements. On this basis the actual document demonstrates the final specifications and operational capability of TMS. Introducing the integral parts of TMS via an overview the following sections document characteristics, positioning, functionality and signal way of the single components. Using data signals, recorded by the LabView Routine on the measurement processor, the conformity of the measurement system with the formerly agreed requirements can be shown. The successful certification of TMS by Airbus on 16th October 2014 is based on that fact.
