First results of computer modeling the characteristics of a downscaled High Effciency Multistage Plasma Thruster (HEMPT) are presented. The aim of the micro- HEMPT development is to meet the requirements in very precise attitude control of upcoming formation flight satellites and probes. Computer modeling can help reach the performance goals and save experimental time. In this presentation, a Particle in Cell code based simulation is used to investigate a section of the thrusters discharge chamber and how its plasma characteristics react to the change of an input parameter.
