Abstract

The 1 μm emissivity of Alpha Regio tessera is lower than adjacent plains. The emissivity is due to material properties such as composition or grain size. The emissivity data are consistent with felsic compositions or basaltic weathering. Such mineralogy may record an extinct era of Venus history
