Abstract

Software developers of the DLR are facing incompatibility issues while the currently provided GCC version may not be supported under other developing environments. The C++11 standard adds numerous features to increase performance, validate code at compile time or simplify implementations by adding new syntax. Providing the newest GCC version thus enables the DLR software developer to write concise and less error-prone C++ code with better portability capabilities. Legacy and valuable code can still be maintained.
