Abstract

This paper presents an initial evaluation of the Galileo signal performance during flight trials. The investigations show that during the measurement campaign the available signals were performing according to expectations. The performance of the signals on E1 is similar to the performance of the currently used GPS L1 C/A code, the performance of the signals on E5a shows improved performance which can mainly be attributed to the higher chipping rate.
