Abstract
The presentation gives an overview on multifunctional skin materials for morphing leading edge applications developed in the recent projects in the Institute DLR-FA. Motivated by application of laminar flow the smart leading edge concepts was developed since 2007 in the DLR and is matured during the last years. The presentation gives an overview on the skin design methods and materials for multifunctional leading edges as well as on approaches for the design of kinematics and comliant mechanisms for actuation of morphing leading edges.
