Kurzfassung
Upcoming formation flying space missions like NGO or next Next Generation Gravity Missions require highly precise attitude control. This leads to never before seen demands in low thrust (0.1µN...150µN) and noise (� 0.1µN/ p Hz) of the thruster actors in the control loop. One effort to reach those requirements is downscaling the High Efficiency Multistage Plasma Thruster (HEMPT) design. The aim of the computer modeling part is to get an improved understanding of the thrusters behavior especially in its downscaled configuration. This will help reaching the design goals. First results of a computer model of a downscaled HEMPT will be presented here.
