Kurzfassung
When optimizing the signal timings of a network, a noticeable issue is to determine the intersections’ optimisation order. This is the list of order that all intersections will be optimized in turn. Along with this, the critical intersection needs to be found which can determine the common cycle time or change offsets. But the optimisation order is determined by users by experience, the optimal signal timing plan generated by them may not be the true optimal plan. This paper addresses this issue by a new method to generate the optimal optimisation order which has been named Sorting Model of Optimisation Order (SMOO). If the optimal optimisation order is worked out, the intersection at first position of the order list is defined as the critical intersection. Two cases are used to test this model. By experiments, SMOO turns out to be a good way to find the optimal optimisation order.
