Kurzfassung
The modern non-intrusive measurement techniques like Particle Image Velocimetry (PIV), Background Oriented Schlieren (BOS), Image Pattern Correlation Technique (IPCT) and Pressure Sensitive Paints (PSP) are all image based methods. Therefore the choice of optimal imaging instrumentation, its proper configuration, alignment and settings are essential for the successful experimental work. One of the key devices is an electronic camera. Besides the camera(s) the instrumentation includes the computer with an appropriate interface, an illumination device and the synchronization unit. The article delivers a brief overview of those devices and gives some example applications.
