Kurzfassung
Accurate characterization of the aerodynamic properties by flight test data analysis is the general aim of aircraft system identification. An aerodynamic database obtained with system identification methods is essential for the evaluation of aircraft performance, analysis of aircraft stability and control, control law design and generation of a simulation model. The results presented in this report are part of the DLR project OPIAM (Online Parameter Identification for Integrated Aerodynamic Modelling) which focuses on the development of a method for the automatic identification of aerodynamic parameters during flight. A parameter identification method called "Recursive Fourier Transformation" which is working in the frequency domain is investigated in this report. The algorithm was implemented in a software tool RAPIT (Rapid Aerodynamic Parameter Identification Tool). RAPIT is programmed in the LabVIEW developing environment, so it can be applied and integrated on a research aircraft. Performance and accuracy of RAPIT were investigated with data from simulated and real system identification flight tests with DLR research aircraft.
