Kurzfassung
Diesel is still the most wide-spread form of propulsion technologies for road freight transport and commercial vehicles in Europe. Based on current German data it could be expected that the conversion of commercial vehicle fleets will take many years and the diesel technology will probably dominant also in this and the next decade. But what are the future vehicle technologies and how are the prospects that more alternative propulsion systems could partly replace the current dominating diesel? Based on an overview on various technologies currently available or developed, this research gives an overview on expectations for possible options of usage of alternative fuels and propulsion.
